10 MINUTES OF CALM
Ten minutes is enough time for your nervous system to shift out of “doing mode” and into a calmer, steadier state. This gentle recording helps you soften tension, slow your breathing and reconnect with your body.
Ten minutes is the time it takes to:
Make and drink a cup of tea
Scroll through your phone
Listen to two songs
And yet those same ten minutes can help your body settle and your mind feel calmer. This will give you more energy and inner resources later in the day, so it really is time well spent.
Before you begin, adopt the following mindset:
Get comfortable but not sleepy to help your brain engage with the relaxation process.
Use passive attention. Focus on letting go rather than trying to make anything happen.
Be relaxed about relaxation – you can’t force it.
If your mind wanders, notice with self-compassion and gently re-focus.
Allow any thoughts, sensations or sounds to be there without needing to change them.
Let this be a small moment of ease rather than something to “get right.”
